Transaction on the floor of the Stock Exchange on Thursday October 5, 2023, closed on a positive note as the  All Share Index appreciated by 0.13% to settle at 66,570.19 from the previous close of 66,482.28. This brings the year-to-date to 29.81%, the month-to-date to 0.29% and the week-to-date to 0.29% respectively.

Market Capitalisation closed at N36.527Trillion. An aggregate of 1,014,376,755 units of shares were traded in 6,959 deals valued at N4.733billion.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed positive as a total of 24 equities gained while 19 equities declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Wema Bank Plc led other gainers with 9.93% growth to close at  N4.65 from its previous price of N4.23

Thomas Wyatt, Regency Alliance Insurance and Daar Communications Plc amongst other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.74%, 8.82% and 8.70% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Champion Breweries Plc led other price decliners as it shed 9.87% off its share price to close at N3.38 from its previous close of N3.75

Chellaram, ABC Transport and UPDC Plc amongst other losers also shed their share prices by 9.84%, 9.72% and 8.57% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Oando Plc traded about 75.146million units of its shares in 760 deals, valued at N771.243million

Universal Insurance Plc traded about 47.225million units of its shares in 64 deals, valued at N11.203million.

Fidelity Bank Plc traded about 35.143million units of its shares in 198 deals, valued at N288.092million
