Transaction on the floor of the Stock Exchange on Friday, August 25, 2023, closed the last trading day of the week on a positive note. The  All Share Index appreciated by 0.24% to settle at 65,558.91 from the previous close of 65,401.82. This brings the year-to-date to 27.57%, the month-to-date to 1.89% and the week-to-date to 1.29% respectively.

Market Capitalisation closed at N35.881 Trillion. An aggregate of 356,015,589 units of shares were traded in 6,569 deals valued at N4.233 billion.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed positive as a total of 31 equities gained while 24 equities declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers
Skye Shelter Fund REIT (SFS REIT) Plc led other gainers with 9.97% growth to close at  N88.30 from its previous price of  N76.20

Nascon Allied Industries, FTN Cocoa Processors, and NEM Insurance Plc amongst other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.95%, 9.94% and 9.90% respectively.

Percentage Losers
Prestige Assurance Plc led other price decliners as it shed 9.43% off its share price to close at N0.48 from its previous close of N0.53
 
Tantalizer,  Omatek Venture and Mutual Benefit Assurance Plc amongst other losers also shed their share prices by 9.37%, 9.09% and 8.89% respectively.

Volume Drivers
Transcorp Plc traded about 76.715 million units of its shares in 466 deals, valued at N442.060 million

Fidelity Bank Plc traded about 52.973 million units of its shares in 180 deals, valued at N376.920 million.

UniversalInsurance Plc traded about 17.840 million units of its shares in 25 deals, valued at N3.673 million
