Transaction on the floor of the Stock Exchange on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 sustained its bearish run and closed on a negative note. The  All Share Index  declined by 0.17 % to settle at 64,928.98 from the previous close of 65,210.49 This brings the year-to-date to 25.77%, the month-to-date to 1.21% and the week-to-date to a negative 0.35% respectively.

Market Capitalisation closed at N35.357Trillion. An aggregate of 280,468,742 units of shares were traded in 6,296 deals valued at N4.645billion.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed negative as a total of 19 equities gained while 31 equities declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers
Tantalizer Plc led other gainers with 10% growth to close at  N0.44 each from its previous price of  N0.40

Ikeja Hotel, Cornerstone Insurance and The Initiate Plc amongst other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.82%, 9.30% and 8.82% respectively.

Percentage Losers
Eterna Plc led other price decliners as it shed 9.86% off its share prices to close at N16.00 from its previous close of N17.75
 
Sunu Assurances Nigeria, Omatek Ventures and  Unilever Nigeria Plc were amongst other losers also shed their share prices by 9.62, 8.11% and 7.05% respectively.

Volume Drivers
Transcorp Plc traded about 36.469million units of its shares in 244 deals, valued at N147.502million

UBA Plc traded about 23.242million units of its shares in 367 deals, valued at N325.417million.

Access Bank Holding Plc traded about 17.667million units of its shares in 375 deals, valued at N299.366million
