Transaction on the floor of the Stock Exchange sustained its bullish run for the third consecutive day in the week, as transactions on Wednesday May 24, 2023 closed on a positive note. The  All Share Index appreciated by 0.58% to settle at 52,927.60 from the previous close of 52,621.19. This brings the year-to-date to 3.49%, the month-to-date to 1.02% and the week-to-date to 1.41% respectively.

Market Capitalisation closed at N28.819trillion. An aggregate of  455,179,794 units of shares were traded in 6,635 deals valued at N7.834billion.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed positive as a total of 36 equities gained while 17 equities declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers
Nestle Nigeria Plc led other gainers with 9.98% growth to close at  N1,148.00  from its previous price of N1,043.80.

Tripple Gee & Company, UACN and University Press Plc amongst other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.88%, 9.76% and 7.96% respectively.

Percentage Losers
Chellarams Plc led other price decliners as it shed 9.82% off its share price to close at N1.47 from its previous close of N1.63

MC Nichols, Coronation Insurance (Wapic) and Academy Press Plc were amongst other losers also shed their share prices by 9.59%, 8.70% and 7.14% respectively.

Volume Drivers
Access Bank Holding Company Plc traded about 69.188million units of its shares in 572 deals, valued at N755.725million.

UBA Plc traded about 66.493million units of its shares in 435 deals, valued at N577.777million

Zenith Bank Plc traded about 37.548million units of its shares in 520 deals, valued at N1.005billion
