Transaction on the floor of the Stock Exchange on Tuesday May 23, 2023 closed on a positive note. The  All Share Index appreciated by 0.48% to settle at 52,621.19 from the previous close of 52,369.13. This brings the year-to-date to 2.91%, the month-to-date to 0.44% and the week-to-date to 0.83% respectively.

Market Capitalisation closed at N28.653trillion. An aggregate of  350,974,154 units of shares were traded in 5,946 deals valued at N5.946billion.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed positive as a total of 33 equities gained while 15 equities declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers
Transcorp Plc led other gainers with 9.85% growth to close at  N2.90  from its previous price of N2.64.

Tripple Gee & Company, Unilever Nigeria and University Press Plc amongst other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.83%, 9.70% and 9.63% respectively.

Percentage Losers
Chellarams Plc led other price decliners as it shed 9.93% off its share price to close at N1.63 from its previous close of N1.81

Sunu Asurances, C&I Leasing and JapaulGold Plc were amongst other losers also shed their share prices by 9.43%, 8.83% and 5.71% respectively.

Volume Drivers
UBA Plc traded about 62.448million units of its shares in 421 deals, valued at N511.061million.

Zenith Bank Plc traded about 58.999million units of its shares in 536 deals, valued at N1.582billion

Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc traded about 31.707million units of its shares in 412 deals, valued at N875.105million
