Transaction on the floor of the Stock Exchange on Thursday, May 4, 2023 closed on a Positive note. The  All Share Index appreciated by 0.16% to settle at 52,290.75 from the previous close of 52,207.77. This brings the year-to-date to 2.26%, the month-to-date to a negative 0.21% and the week-to-date to a negative 0.21% respectively.

Market Capitalisation closed at N28.472trillion. An aggregate of  1,270,128,595 units of shares were traded in 5,963 deals valued at N7.008billion.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed Positive as a total of 31 equities gained while 18 equities declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers
Mutual Benefit Plc led other gainers with 10% growth to close at  N0.33  from its previous price of N0.30

NEM Insurance, CWG and Ardova Plc amongst other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.64%, 9.09% and 8.47% respectively.

Percentage Losers
Linkage Assurance Plc led other price decliners as it shed 9.43% off its share price to close at N0.48 from its previous close of N0.53

MC Nichols,Red Star Express and University Press Plc were amongst other losers also shed their share prices by 8.86%, 8.73% and 8.29% respectively.

Volume Drivers
Transcorp Plc traded about 811.205million units of its shares in 483 deals, valued at N1.989billion.

Access Bank Holding Plc traded about 219.367million units of its shares in 930 deals, valued at N2.346billion

Chams Holding Company Plc traded about 30.994million units of its shares in 85 deals, valued at N10.133million
