Transaction on the floor of the Stock Exchange on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 closed on a negative note. The  All Share Index declined by 0.17% to settle at 52,207.77 from the previous close of 52,229.24. This brings the year-to-date to 2.10%, the month-to-date to a negative 0.37% and the week-to-date to a negative 0.37% respectively.

Market Capitalisation closed at N28.427trillion. An aggregate of  670,082,230 units of shares were traded in 6,254 deals valued at N5.028billion.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed Positive as a total of 22 equities gained while 18 equities declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers
Ardova Plc led other gainers with 9.25% growth to close at  N18.30  from its previous price of N16.75

Academy Press, Cutix and RT Briscoe Plc amongst other gainers also grew their share prices by 8.90%, 8.89% and 8.33% respectively.

Percentage Losers
Transcorp Plc led other price decliners as it shed 9.49% off its share price to close at N2.29 from its previous close of N2.53

International Energy Insurance, Union Bank of Nigeria and FCMB Plc were amongst other losers also shed their share prices by 8.87%, 7.79% and 7.28% respectively.

Volume Drivers
Transcorp Plc traded about 276.527million units of its shares in 483 deals, valued at N631.305million.

Access Bank Holding Plc traded about 174.397million units of its shares in 1,052 deals, valued at N1.805billion

Fidelity Bank Plc traded about 31.411million units of its shares in 175 deals, valued at N175.218million
