The market closed in the red region at the end of today’s trading session as 12 companies recorded gains while equities of  14 companies depreciated in price.

Transactions on the floor of the Stock Exchange on Thursday, closed on a negative note as the All Share Index depreciated by 0.42% to settle at  48.964.83 from the previous close of 49.171.70.  This brings the year-to-date to 14.63%, the month-to-date to -1.36% and the week-to-date to 0.86% respectively.

Investors lost N105billion as Market Capitalisation depreciated by 0.42% to close at N26.426trillion from the previous close of N26.531. An aggregate of 220.776 units of shares were traded in 3,105 deals valued at N2.253Million.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed negative as 12 equities gained while 14 equities declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Jaiz Bank Plc led other gainers with 9.21% growth to close at N1.24 from the previous close of N1.14.

Ikeja Hotel, Multiverse and Consolidated Hallmark Insurance Plc amongst other gainers also grew their share prices by 8.77%, 8.21% and 7.55% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Nestle Plc led other price decliners as it shed 10% off its share price to close at N1,215 from the previous close of N1,350.
Afriprud, FCMB and Aiico Insurance Plc amongst other losers also shed their share prices by 8.26%, 6% and 5.45% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Jaiz Bank Plc traded about 85.909million units of its shares in 105 deals, valued at N65.090million.

Zenith Bank Plc traded about 14.171million units of its shares in 305 deals, valued at N282.447million.

Veristas Kapital Plc traded about 11.289million units of its shares in 3 deals, valued at N2.258million.
