The House of Representatives has called on the National Identity Management Commission to redesign the national identity card such that the National Identity Number of the bearer is written on it. The call followed the unanimous adoption of a motion of urgent public importance moved by a member of the House, Fredrick Agbedi, at the plenary on Wednesday. The monetary value of goods produced by Nigerian manufacturers has nosedived by 27 per cent between 2017 and 2021. According to a five-year data obtained from the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria and analysed by THE Punch, N9.43 trillion worth of goods were manufactured in 2017, but this took a downward plunge to N7.39 trillion by the end of 2021.
