Investors recorded a slight gain of N7billion at the end of today’s trading session on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange as 20 companies recorded gains while the equities of 18 companies depreciated in price.
Transactions on the floor of the Exchange on Thursday, closed on a positive note as the All Share Index appreciated by 0.03% to settle at 51,817.59 points, from the previous close of 51,803.98 points, bringing the year-to-date to 21.31%, the month-to-date to 0.43% and the week-to-date to 0.22% respectively.
Investors gained N7billion as market capitalisation appreciated by 0.03% to close at N27.935trillion from the previous close of N27.928trillion. An aggregate of 223.111million units of shares were traded in 4,213 deals valued at N3,874billion.
Market Breadth:
The market breadth closed positive as 20 equities gained while 18 equities declined in their share prices.
Percentage Gainers:
UPL Plc led other gainers with 9.79% growth to close at N2.58 from the previous close of N2.35.
MCnichols, Cornerstone and Consolidated Hallmark Insurance Plc amongst other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.73%, 9.09% and 8.96% respectively.
Percentage Losers:
PZ Plc led other price decliners as it shed 9.86% off its share price to close at N9.60 from the previous close of N10.65.
Tripple G, Prestige Insurance and Honeywell Plc amongst other losers also shed their share prices by 8.42%, 7.50% and 7.07% respectively
Volume Drivers:
First Bank Plc traded about 36.634mIllion units of its shares in 411 deals, valued at N424.130Million.
Transcorp Plc traded about 26.471million units of its shares in 68 deals, valued at N32.547billion.
UBA Plc traded about 17.505million units of its shares in 132 deals, valued at N130.456million.
