Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) on Friday, closed on a negative note as the All Share Index depreciated by 1.21% to settle at 51.778.08 points, from the previous close of 52.411.09 points, bringing the year-to-date to 21.21%, the month-to-date to -1.57% and the week-to-date to -2.70% respectively.
Investors lost N341billion as market capitalisation depreciated by 1.21% to close at N27,914trillion from the previous close of N28.255trillion. An aggregate of 241.191million units of shares were traded in 5,043 deals valued at N3,665billion.
Market Breadth:
The market breadth closed negative as 10 equities gained while 24 equities declined in their share prices.
Percentage Gainers:
Ellah Lakes Plc led other gainers with 8.40% growth to close at N4.00 from the previous close of N3.69.
UACN, Living Trust, and Mutual Benefit Plc amongst other gainers also grew their share prices by 6.48%, 5.26% and 4.17% respectively.
Percentage Losers:
Mcnichols Plc led other price decliners as it shed 9.76% off its share price to close at N1.85 from the previous close of N2.05.
Ardova, Livestock and International Brewery Plc amongst other losers also shed their share prices by 9.70%, 9.52% and 9.42% respectively
Volume Drivers:
Jaiz Bank Plc traded about 40.662mIllion units of its shares in 80 deals, valued at N37.214Million.
UBA Plc traded about 35.718million units of its shares in 246 deals, valued at N269.420million.
Zenith Bank Plc traded about 33.100million units of its shares in 938 deals, valued at N718.991million.
