Investors lost N196billion at the end of at the end of today’s trading session, as 12 companies gained while the equities of 22 companies depreciated in price
Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) on Wednesday, closed on a negative note as the All Share Index depreciated by 0.69% to settle at 52.411.09 points, from the previous close of 52.775.40 points, bringing the year-to-date to 22.70%, the month-to-date to -0.36% and the week-to-date to -1.49% respectively.
Investors lost N196billion as market capitalisation depreciated by 0.69% to close at N28.255trillion from the previous close of N28.451trillion. An aggregate of 211.614million units of shares were traded in 4,750 deals valued at N2.365billion.
Market Breadth:
The market breadth closed negative as 12 equities gained while 22 equities declined in their share prices.
Percentage Gainers:
Linkage Assurance Plc led other gainers with 9.80% growth to close at N0.56 from the previous close of N0.51.
Courtville, Japaul Gold amd Chams Plc amongst other gainers also grew their share prices by 8.00%, 6.90% and 4.17% respectively.
Percentage Losers:
Conoil Plc led other price decliners as it shed 10% off its share price to close at N28.80 from the previous close of N32.
BUA Foods, E-Tranzact and CWG Plc amongst other losers also shed their share prices by 9.97%, 9.96% and 9.62% respectively
Volume Drivers:
Sterling Bank Plc traded about 63.662mIllion units of its shares in 204 deals, valued at N97.449Million.
Zenith bank Plc traded about 17.335million units of its shares in 581 deals, valued at N382.567million.
UBA Plc traded about 17.333million units of its shares in 230 deals, valued at N131.852million.
