Investors recorded a slight loss at the end of today’s trading session on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange as the market capitalisation dropped by N12billion.
Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) on Thursday, closed on a negative note as the All Share Index depreciated by 0.04% to settle at 53.174.76 points, from the previous close of 53.193.98 points, bringing the year-to-date to 24.48%, the month-to-date to 0.41% and the week-to-date to 0.51% respectively.
Investors lost N12billion as market capitalisation depreciated by 0.04% to close at N28.665trillion from the previous close of N28.677trillion. An aggregate of 318.418million units of shares were traded in 4,345 deals valued at N3.339Billion.
Market Breadth:
The market breadth closed negative as 15 equities gained while 17 equities declined in their share prices.
Percentage Gainers:
UPL Plc led other gainers with 9.43% growth to close at N2.90 from the previous close of N2.65.
Cornerstone Insurance, Ellah Lakes and International Brewery Plc amongst other gainers also grew their share prices by 8.93%, 7.89% and 4.23% respectively.
Percentage Losers:
C/I Leasing Plc led other price decliners as it shed 8.57% off its share price to close at N3.20 from the previous close of N3.50.
FTN Cocoa, Ikeja Hotel, Glaxosmithkline Plc amongst other losers also shed their share prices by 8.33%, 3.23% and 2.74% respectively.
Volume Drivers:
Transcorp Plc traded about 165.206mIllion units of its shares in 207 deals, valued at N225.901Million.
GTCO Plc traded about 22,222million units of its shares in 461 deals, valued at N493.111million.
UBA Plc traded about 19.099million units of its shares in 160 deals, valued at N148.609million.
