Investors recorded a slight gain of N49billion at the end of today’s trading session as 22 companies recorded gains while equities of 16 companies depreciated in price. Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) on Friday, closed on a positive note as the All Share Index appreciated by 0.18% to settle at 52,908.24 points, from the previous close of 52,840.21 points, bringing the year-to-date to 23.86%, the month-to-date to 7.63% and the week-to-date to -0.93% respectively. Investors gained N49billion as market capitalisation appreciated by 0.18% to close at N28.523trillion from the previous close of N28,474trillion. An aggregate of 282.970Billion units of shares were traded in 4,245 deals valued at N3.372Billion. Market Breadth: The market breadth closed positive as 22 equities gained while 16 equities declined in their share prices. Percentage Gainers: NEM Insurance Plc led other gainers with 9.95% growth to close at N4.20 from the previous close of N3.82. Chams, Champion Brewery and Nigerian Brewery Plc amongst other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.09%, 8.06% and 7.06% respectively. Percentage Losers: UPD Creit Plc led other price decliners as it shed 9.33% off its share price to close at N3.40 from the previous close of N3.75. Wapic Insurance, UACN, and Caverton Plc amongst other losers also shed their share prices by 4.55%, 4.35% and 3.36% respectively. Volume Drivers: UACN Plc traded about 73.894mIllion units of its shares in 88 deals, valued at N812.297Billion. First Bank Plc traded about 53.134million units of its shares in 217 deals, valued at N596.756million. Transcorp Plc traded about 43.908million units of its shares in 128 deals, valued at N56.356million. |
