Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) on Wednesday, closed on a negative note as the All Share Index depreciated by 0.03% to settle at 52,974.15 points, from the previous close of 52,990.28 points, bringing the year-to-date to 24.01%, the month-to-date to 7.70% and the week-to-date to -0.86% respectively.
Investors lost N9billion as market capitalisation depreciated by 0.03% to close at N28.559trillion from the previous close of N28,568trillion. An aggregate of 295,354Billion units of shares were traded in 4,637 deals valued at N28.559Billion.
Market Breadth:
The market breadth closed negative as 14 equities gained while 20 equities declined in their share prices.
Percentage Gainers:
Eterna Oil Plc led other gainers with 9.90% growth to close at N7.44 from the previous close of N6.77.
FTN Cocoa, NAHCO and Ikeja Hotel Plc amongst other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.38%, 8.57% and 7.83% respectively.
Percentage Losers:
Okomu Oil Plc led other price decliners as it shed 10% off its share price to close at N193.50 from the previous close of N215.
NCR, Conoil and Neimeth Plc amongst other losers also shed their share prices by 9.77%, 8.35% and 7.19% respectively.
Volume Drivers:
Transcorp Plc traded about 121.837mIllion units of its shares in 145 deals, valued at N156.150Billion.
GTCO Plc traded about 20.124million units of its shares in 338 deals, valued at N454.746million.
Conoil Plc traded about 16.955million units of its shares in 48 deals, valued at N493.420million.
