Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) on Thursday, closed on a positive note as the All Share Index appreciated by 0.15% to settle at 52,917.76 points, from the previous close of 52,838.45 points, bringing the year-to-date to 23.88%, the month-to-date to 6.45% and the week-to-date to 3.85% respectively.
Investors gained N42Billion as market capitalisation appreciated by 0.15% to close at N28,528trillion from the previous close of N28.486trillion. An aggregate of 426.018Million units of shares were traded in 7,639 deals valued at N5.697Billion.
Market Breadth:
The market breadth closed positive as 32 equities gained while 23 equities declined in their share prices.
Percentage Gainers:
Fidson Plc led other gainers with 9.95% growth to close at N11.38 from the previous close of N10.35.
Eterna Oil, Mcnichols, and Glaxosmithkline Plc amongst other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.94%, 9.91% and 9.87% respectively.
Percentage Losers:
Academy Plc led other price decliners as it shed 9.73% off its share price to close at N1.67 from the previous close of N1.85.
Consolidated Hallmark, Linkage Assurance, and Veritas Kapital Plc amongst other losers also shed their share prices by 9.63%, 8.70% and 4.65% respectively.
Volume Drivers:
Transcorp Plc traded about 94.397mIllion units of its shares in 414deals, valued at N122.725million.
Zenith Bank Plc traded about 35.367million units of its shares in 515 deals, valued at N590.081million.
WAPCO Plc traded about 19.234million units of its shares in 347 deals, valued at N601.948million.
