The stock market gained 0.98% at the close of today’s trading as the big players such as Okomu, Presco, Dangote Cement and Guinness all gained in prices.
Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) on Monday, closed on a positive note as the All Share Index appreciated by 0.98% to settle at 50,126.41 points, from the previous close of 49,638.94 points, bringing the year-to-date to 16.95%, the month-to-date to 0.98% and the week-to-date to 0.98% respectively.
Investors gained 273Billion as market capitalisation appreciated by 0.98% to close at N27,034trillion from the previous close of N26.761trillion. An aggregate of 669.299Million units of shares were traded in 7.251 deals valued at N5,989Billion.
Market Breadth:
The market breadth closed positive as 31 equities gained while 27 equities declined in their share prices.
Percentage Gainers:
Okomu Oil Plc led other gainers with 10% growth to close at N161.70 from the previous close of N147.
Wema Bank, Nigerian Brewery, and Presco Plc amongst other gainers also grew their share prices by 10%, 9.98% and 9.97% respectively.
Percentage Losers:
Oando Plc led other price decliners as it shed 10% off its share price to close at N5.63 from the previous close of N6.30.
Trans Express, Mansard and Ikeja Hotel Plc amongst other losers also shed their share prices by 9.88%, 7.79% and 7.14% respectively.
Volume Drivers:
UBN Plc traded about 263.647mIllion units of its shares in 37 deals, valued at N1.666Billion.
Transcorp Plc traded about 74.058million units of its shares in 307 deals, valued at N86.724million.
Aiico Insurance Plc traded about 31.031million units of its shares in 129 deals, valued at N24.721million.
