Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange on Friday closed on a positive note as the All Share Index appreciated by 0.56% to settle at 43.854.42 points, from the previous close of 43.607.94 points, bringing the year-to-date to 2.64%, the month-to-date to 2.64% and the week-to-date to 2.64% respectively.
Investors gained N130Billion as Market Capitalization appreciated by 0.56% to close at N23.627trillion from the previous close of N23.497trillion. An aggregate of 395.154Million units of shares were traded in 3,923 deals, valued at N12.399Billion.
The market breadth closed positive as 31 equities gained while 9 equities declined in their share prices.
Cornerstone Insurance Plc led other gainers with 10% growth to close at N0.55 from the previous close of N50.
Meyer, Ardova and BUA Foods Plc amongst other gainers also grew their share prices by 10%, 9.92% and 9.92% respectively.
Consolidated Hallmark Plc led other price decliners as it shed 9.59% off its share price to close at N0.66 from the previous close of N0.73.
Sovereign Insurance, UPDC, Julius Berger Plc amongst other losers also shed their share prices by 7.78%, 7.69% and 5.15% respectively.
BUA Food Plc traded about 204.600illion units of its shares in 180 deals, valued at N10.064Million.
GTCO Bank Plc traded about 25.676million units of its shares in 326 deals, valued at N663.372Million.
Chams Plc traded about 22.823million units of its shares in 41 deals, valued at N4.571Million.
