Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange on Thursday closed on a negative note as the All Share Index depreciated by 0.03% to settle at 42,230 points, from the previous close of 42,244 points, bringing the year-to-date to 5.12%, the month-to-date to 9.32% and the week-to-date to -0.27% respectively.
Investors lost N7Billion as Market Capitalization depreciated by 0.03 to close at N22,043trillion from the previous close of N22.050trillion. An aggregate of 211.090million units of shares were traded in 2,815 deals, valued at N2.464billion.
The market breadth closed positive as 14 equities gained while 11 equities declined in their share prices.
Union Bank Plc led other gainers with 9.78% growth to close at N5.05 from the previous close of N4.60.
Royal Exchange Assurance, Mutual Benefit Insurance, Eterna Plc amongst other gainers also grew their share prices by 7.14%, 6.67% and 6.00 respectively.
Julius Berger Plc led other price decliners as it shed 9.88% off its share price to close at N22.35 from the previous close of N24.80
UPDC, Sovereign Insurance and First Bank Plc amongst other losers also shed their share prices by 5.60%, 4.00% and 2.50% respectively.
UACN Plc traded about 64.952million units of its shares in 28 deals, valued at N617.023million.
Sovereign Insurance Plc traded about 5.478million units of its shares in 23 deals, valued at N23.311million.
GTCO Plc traded about 21.140million units of its shares in 197 deals, valued at N549.567Million.
