Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange on Wednesday closed on a negative note as the All Share Index depreciated by 0.34% to settle at 42,244.22 points, from the previous close of 42,388.57 points, bringing the year-to-date to 5.15%, the month-to-date to 9.35% and the week-to-date to -0.25% respectively. Investors lost N75Billion as Market Capitalization depreciated by 0.34 to close at N22,050trillion from the previous close of N22.126trillion. An aggregate of 224.027million units of shares were traded in 2,658 deals, valued at N2.658billion. Market Breadth: The market breadth closed positive as 17 equities gained while 14 equities declined in their share prices. Percentage Gainers: Cutix Plc led other gainers with 10% growth to close at N2.64 from the previous close of N2.40. May Baker, UPDC and Consolidated Hallmark Plc amongst other gainers also grew their share prices by 10%, 7.76% and 5.08 respectively. Percentage Losers: Royal Exchange Assurance Plc led other price decliners as it shed 6.67% off its share price to close at N0.70 from the previous close of N0.75. Lasaco Insurance, Union Bank and Fcmb Plc amongst other losers also shed their share prices by 6.36%, 5.15% and 4.33% respectively. Volume Drivers: UACN Plc traded about 77.367million units of its shares in 29 deals, valued at N696.465million. Mutual Benefit Plc traded about 15.040million units of its shares in 37 deals, valued at N4.326million. Sovereign Insurance Plc traded about 12.150million units of its shares in 18 deals, valued at N3.005Million. |
