Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange on Thursday closed on a negative note as the All Share Index depreciated by 1.77% to settle at 41,685.22 points, from the previous close of 42,435.16 points, bringing the year-to-date to 3.81%, the month-to-date to 8.01% and the week-to-date to -1.14% respectively. Investors lost N392 Billion as Market Capitalization depreciated by 1.77% to close at N21.751 trillion from the previous close of N22.143 trillion. An aggregate of 473.467 million units of shares were traded in 3,874 deals, valued at N5.167 billion. Market Breadth: The market breadth closed positive as 22 equities gained while 15 equities declined in their share prices. Percentage Gainers: Sky Aviation Plc led other gainers with 9.66% growth to close at N4.88 from the previous close of N4.45. Oando, Wapic and Mutual Benefit Plc amongst other gainers also grew their share prices by 8.83%, 8.51% and 8.33% respectively. Percentage Losers: Dangote Cement Plc led other price decliners as it shed 10% off its share price to close at N2.52 from the previous close of N2.80. UACN, Neimeth and May and Baker Plc amongst other losers also shed their share prices by 10%, 6.86% and 6.46% respectively. Volume Drivers: First Bank Plc traded about 228,533million units of its shares in 340 deals, valued at N2.614Billion. Access Bank Plc traded about 45,623million units of its shares in 242 deals, valued at N421.864million. Sterling Bank Plc traded about 37.864million units of its shares in 46 deals, valued at N56.837Million. |
