Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange on Friday closed on a negative note as the All Share Index depreciated by 0.19% to settle at 42,167.91 points, from the previous close of 42,247.98 points, bringing the year-to-date to 4.95%, the month-to-date to 9.15% and the week-to-date to -2.65% respectively. Investors lost N41 billion as Market Capitalization depreciated by 0.19% to close at N22.003 trillion from the previous close of N22.044 trillion. An aggregate of 324,020 million units of shares were traded in 4,019 deals, valued at N2,425billion. Market Breadth: The market breadth closed negative as 13 equities gained while 18 equities declined in their share prices. Percentage Gainers: UPDC Plc led other gainers with 10% growth to close at N0.99 from the previous close of N0.90. Linkage Assurance, Nem Insurance, and Prestige Insurance plc amongst other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.80%, 9.76% and 8.51% respectively. Percentage Losers: FTN Cocoa Plc led other price decliners as it shed 7.89% off its share price to close at N0.35 from the previous close of N0.38. Consolidation Hallmark Insurance, Champion Brewery, and Courtville Plc amongst other losers also shed their share prices by 6.38%, 5.88% and 5.13% respectively. Volume Drivers: GTCO Plc traded about 23.960million units of its shares in 357 deals, valued at N581.566Million. Mutual Benefit Insurance Plc traded about 20.174million units of its shares in 43 deals, valued at N4.953million. Access Bank Plc traded about 18.722million units of its shares in 120 deals, valued at N168.320Million. |
