Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange on Thursday closed on a negative note as the All Share Index depreciated by 0.51% to settle at 42,247.98 points, from the previous close of 42,463.16 points, bringing the year-to-date to 5.14%, the month-to-date to 9.34% and the week-to-date to -2.46% respectively.
Investors lost N113 billion as Market Capitalization depreciated by 0.51% to close at N22.044 trillion from the previous close of N22.157 trillion. An aggregate of 324,020 million units of shares were traded in 4,706 deals, valued at N5,294 billion.
Market Breadth:
The market breadth closed negative as 17 equities gained while 34 equities declined in their share prices.
Percentage Gainers:
Meyer Plc led other gainers with 10% growth to close at N0.22 from the previous close of N0.20.
Nem Insurance, Royal Exchange Assurance, Japaul Gold plc amongst other gainers also grew their share prices by 7.33%, 5.88% and 5.26% respectively.
Percentage Losers:
BOC Gas Plc led other price decliners as it shed 10.0% off its share price to close at N10.50 from the previous close of N9.45.
UPDC, Trans Express, and Living Trust Mortgage Plc amongst other losers also shed their share prices by 9.09%, 8.99% and 8.33% respectively.
Volume Drivers:
FBNH Plc traded about 113.360million units of its shares in 293 deals, valued at N1.346 billion.
GTCO Plc traded about 33.477million units of its shares in 453 deals, valued at N821.132million.
