Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange on Wednesday closed on a negative note as the All Share Index depreciated by 1.81% to settle at 42,463.16 points, from the previous close of 43,248.05points, bringing the year-to-date to 5.65%, the month-to-date to 9.85% and the week-to-date to -1.95% respectively.
Investors lost N409 billion as Market Capitalization depreciated by 1.81% to close at N22.157 trillion from the previous close of N22.566 trillion. An aggregate of 335.466 million units of shares were traded in 3,794 deals, valued at N3.552 billion.
Market Breadth:
The market breadth closed negative as 15 equities gained while 23 equities declined in their share prices.
Percentage Gainers:
CornerStone Plc led other gainers with 7.69% growth to close at N0.56 from the previous close of N0.52
Mansard, Chams abd NGX amongst other gainers also grew their share prices by 7.55%, 5.00% and 3.66% respectively.
Percentage Losers:
MTNN Plc led other price decliners as it shed 10.0% off its share price to close at N171.00 from the previous close of N190.00.
Afriprud, UPDC and Royal Exchange amongst other losers also shed their share prices by 7.69%, 7.48% and 5.56% respectively.
Volume Drivers:
FBNH Plc traded about 133.995million units of its shares in 285 deals, valued at N1.573 billion.
Universal Insurance Plc traded about 36.193million units of its shares in 13 deals, valued at N7.238million.
