Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange on Thursday closed on a positive note as the All Share Index appreciated by 1.10% to settle at 41,704.11points, from the previous close of 41,144.67points, bringing the year-to-date to 6.14%, the month-to-date to 7.74% and the week-to-date to 0.65% respectively.
Investors gained N238billion as Market Capitalization appreciated by 1.10% to close at N21.764trillion from the previous close of N21.526trillion. An aggregate of 216.195million units of shares were traded in 4,272 deals, valued at N3.381Billion.
Market Breadth:
The market breadth closed positive as 23 equities gained while 18 equities declined in their share prices.
Percentage Gainers:
Cutix Plc led other gainers with 10% growth to close at N5.50 from the previous close of N5.
NGX Group, Consolidated Hallmark Insurance and Nigerian Brewery Plc amongst other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.79%, 9.09% and 7.41% respectively.
Percentage Losers:
Neimeth Plc led other price decliners as it shed 4.86% off its share price to close at N0.43 from the previous close of N0.47.
Universal Insurance, NAHCO and Royal Exchange Insurance Plc amongst other losers also shed their share prices by 4.76%, 3.61% and 3.51% respectively.
Volume Drivers:
First Bank Plc traded about 51.915million units of its shares in 454 deals, valued at N628.328Million.
Eco Transnational Incorporation Plc traded about 20.019million units of its shares in 106 deals, valued at N143.691Million.
Transcorp Plc traded about 14.646million units of its shares in 128 deals, valued at N14.974Million.
