Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange on Monday closed on a negative note as the All Share Index depreciated by 0.38% to settle at 40,714points, from the previous close of 40,868.36points, bringing the year-to-date to 3.72%, the month-to-date to 5.32% and the week-to-date to 1.23% respectively.
Investors lost N81billion as Market Capitalization depreciated by 0.38% to close at N21.215trillion from the previous close of N21.296trillion. An aggregate of 191.312million units of shares were traded in 2,590 deals, valued at N2.590billion.
Market Breadth:
The market breadth closed flat as 17 equities gained and 17 equities declined in their share prices.
Percentage Gainers:
Nem Insurance Plc led other gainers with 9.95% growth to close at N2.10 from the previous close of N1.91.
Champion Brewery, Eco Transnational Inc. and Royal Exchange Insurance Plc amongst other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.52%, 9.52% and 8.77% respectively.
Percentage Losers:
Sovereign Insurance Plc led other price decliners as it shed 8.33% off its share price to close at N0.22 from the previous close of N0.24.
Nigeria Brewery, Aiico Insurance and UPL Plc amongst other losers also shed their share prices by 6.06%, 5.26% and 5.06% respectively.
Volume Drivers:
First Bank Plc traded about 24.154million units of its shares in 365 deals, valued at N234.249illion.
Eco Transnational Incorporation Plc traded about 19,339million units of its shares in 272 deals, valued at N130.358million.
Chams Plc traded about 17.697million units of its shares in 51 deals, valued at N4.226Million.
