Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange on Wednesday closed on a positive note as the All Share Index appreciated by 0.12% to settle at 40,765.20points, from the previous close of 40,716.66 points, bringing the year-to-date to 3.84, the month-to-date to 5.44% and the week-to-date to 1.35% respectively.
Investors gained N25billion as Market Capitalization appreciated by 0.12% to close at N21.242trillion from the previous close of N21.217trillion. An aggregate of 400.652billion units of shares were traded in 5,145deals, valued at N3,479billion.
The market breadth closed positive as 20 equities gained while 19 equities declined in their share prices.
UPL Plc led other gainers with 7.38% growth to close at N1.31 from the previous close of N1.22.
NNFM, Livestock and Universal Insurance Plc amongst other gainers also grew their share prices by 6.49%, 5.38% and 5% respectively.
Pharmadeko Plc led other price decliners as it shed 6.01% off its share price to close at N2.66 from the previous close of N2.83.
ABC Transport, Regency Insurance and Chams Plc amongst other losers also shed their share prices by 5,71%, 4.88% and 4.55% respectively.
First Bank Plc traded about 108.741million units of its shares in 519 deals, valued at N1.072Billion.
Transcorp Plc traded about 39.676million units of its shares in 150 deals, valued at N38.380million.
Eco Transnational Incorporation Plc traded about 32.783million units of its shares in 100 deals, valued at N189.907Million.
