Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange on Wednesday closed on a negative note as the All Share Index depreciated by 0.05% to settle at 38,852.69 points, from the previous close of 38,873.85 points, bringing the year-to-date to -1.27, the month-to-date to 0.58% and the week-to-date to -0.10% respectively.
Investors lost N10billion as Market Capitalization depreciated by 0.05% to close at N20.243trillion from the previous close of N20.253trillion. An aggregate of 155.773million units of shares were traded in 3,256 deals, valued at N1.510billion.
Market Breadth:
The market breadth closed positive as 18 equities gained while 14 equities declined in their share prices.
Percentage Gainers:
Transcorp Plc led other gainers with 910% growth to close at N4.95 from the previous close of N4.50.
Pharmadeko, Conoil and Cornerstone Plc amongst other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.88%, 9.84% and 8.16% respectively.
Percentage Losers:
Veristas Kapital Plc led other price decliners as it shed 8.7% off its share price to close at N0.23 from the previous close of N0.21.
Ucap, Chams and Japaul Gold Plc amongst other losers also shed their share prices by 5%, 4.55% and 2.13% respectively.
Volume Drivers:
Universal Insurance Plc traded about 19.041million units of its shares in 8 deals, valued at N3.808million.
