Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange on Wednesday closed on a positive note as the All Share Index appreciated by 0.12% to settle at 38,968.34 points, from the previous close of 38,920.50 points, bringing the year-to-date to -1.06, the month-to-date to 0.79% and the week-to-date to 0.11% respectively.

Investors gained N25billion as Market Capitalization appreciated by 0.12% to close at N20.303trillion from the previous close of N20.278trillion. An aggregate of 141.408million units of shares were traded in 3,079 deals, valued at N2.973billion.

Market Breadth:

The market breadth closed negative as 14 equities gained while 18 equities declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers:

UPDC plc led other gainers with 9.64% growth to close at N1.82 from the previous close of N1.66.

NNFM, Oando and Learn Africa Plc amongst other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.59%, 6.21% and 5.88% respectively.

Percentage Losers:

Transcorp Hotel Plc led other price decliners as it shed 10% off its share price to close at N4.5 from the previous close of N5.

Chi, Prestige Insurance and Champions Brewery Plc amongst other losers also shed their share prices by 6.42%, 6.25% and 4.85% respectively.

Volume Drivers:

Universal Insurance Plc traded about 17.987million units of its shares in 12 deals, valued at N35.973million.

Zenith Bank Plc traded about 9.712million units of its shares in 269 deals, valued at N229.356million.

UCAP Plc traded about 9.342million units of its shares in 113 deals, valued at N76.221Million.
