Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange on Wednesday closed on a negative note as the All Share Index depreciated by 0.12% to settle at 39,252.89 points, from the previous close of 39,252.89 points, bringing the year-to-date to -0.45, the month-to-date to 1.86% and the week-to-date to -0.12% respectively.
Investors lost N26billion as Market Capitalization depreciated by 0.12% to close at N20.426trillion from the previous close of N20.452trillion. An aggregate of 354.061million units of shares were traded in 4,095 deals, valued at N3.203billion.
Market Breadth:
The market breadth closed negative as 14 equities gained while 15 equities declined in their share prices.
Percentage Gainers:
Regency Insurance Plc led other gainers with 8.51% growth to close at N0.51 from the previous close of N0.47.
Universal Insurance, Sovereign Insurance and FCMB Plc amongst other gainers also grew their share prices by 5%, 4.17% and 3.45% respectively.
Percentage Losers:
SCOA Plc led other price decliners as it shed 9.72% off its share price to close at N1.30 from the previous close of N1.44.
Veritas Kapital, Mansard Insurance and Chams Plc amongst other losers also shed their share prices by 8.70%, 5.68% and 4.55% respectively.
Volume Drivers:
First Bank Plc traded about 86.006million units of its shares in 112 deals, valued at N640.875million.
Access Bank Plc traded about 71.069million units of its shares in 441 deals, valued at N671.343Million.
Universal Insurance Plc traded about 22.318million units of its shares in 37 deals, valued at N4.516million.
