Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange on Thursday closed on a positive note as the All Share Index appreciated by 0.17% to settle at 39,252.19 points, from the previous close of 39,184.18 points, bringing the year-to-date to -.0.33, the month-to-date to 2.02% and the week-to-date to -0.23% respectively.

Investors gained N35billion as Market Capitalization appreciated by 0.17% to close at N20.451trillion from the previous close of N20.416trillion. An aggregate of 262.139million units of shares were traded in 3,955 deals, valued at N1.998billion.

Market Breadth:

The market breadth closed positive as 16 equities gained while 11 equities declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers:

Chams Plc led other gainers with 4.76% growth to close at N0.22 from the previous close of N0.21.

Prestige Insurance, Wema Bank and Mansard plc amongst other gainers also grew their share prices by 4.35%, 3.66% and 3.49% respectively.

Percentage Losers:

Unity Bank Plc led other price decliners as it shed 8.62% off its share price to close at N0.53 from the previous close of N0.58.

Oando, Union Bank and FTN Cocoa Plc amongst other losers also shed their share prices by 7.03%, 6.54% and 5.77% respectively.

Volume Drivers:

Access Bank Plc traded about 51.072million units of its shares in 526 deals, valued at N471.191million.

Transcorp Plc traded about 32.456million units of its shares in 93 deals, valued at N398.197Million

HoneyWell Flour Plc traded about 18.635million units of its shares in 300 deals, valued at N72.350million.
