The Equities market extended bullishness in today’s trading session as the NSE benchmark index grew by +0.43% from previous position to close at 27,236.78bps. Also, the market capitalization increased by +0.43% to close at N9.36 trillion.
Also, the good performance made by the Oil & gas and Consumer goods sectors (TOTAL- with a proposed N7.00 interim dividend, UNILEVER, NB – with a proposed N1.00 interim dividend, amongst others) in their nine-month unaudited result, released yesterday after market close being the 26th of October 2016, helped the market outperform in today’s session.
Nevertheless, market breadth was weak as 18 losers led by MAYBAKER (-8.89%) over 15 gainers led by TOTAL (+10.25%) was recorded on the chart today.
Total volume traded was 156 million shares, valued at N1.76 billion and traded in 2,648 deals. The highest traded Equities in volume and value were FBNH (30,825,953) and UNILEVER (N535,575,203.69) respectively.
Two out of the five key sectoral indices’ recorded losses, while the Banking, Consumer goods and the Industrial goods indices recorded gains in today’s trading session.
