The Equities market starts week on a positive territory as depicted by the NSE benchmark index which recorded a significant gain of +1.41% compared with the 0.77% appreciation recorded previously, to close at 24,570.73 basis points.
This lift was influenced by the appreciation in the prices of some high cap stocks such as DANGCEM, SEPLAT, GUARANTY amongst others.
Market breadth was equal as 18 gainers led by DANGCEM (+5.00%) over 18 losers led by WEMABANK (-7.29%) was recorded on the chart today.
Volume traded was 467.24 million shares, valued at N1.49 billion and traded in 2,549 deals. The highest traded Equities in volume and value were WAPIC ( 207,113,867) and ACCESS ( N562,782,363.67) respectively.
Also, all the key Sectoral indices appreciated except the Insurance and the Consumer goods Indices which declined by -0.56% and -0.45% respectively.The the Industrial goods index led the gainers with 2.48%, While the Oil and gas and the Banking indices followed suite with 0.57% and 0.43% gains respectively.
