From NSE Data, the equity market maintained an upward movement in today’s trading session with appreciation in the prices of some blue chips such as DANGCEM with 4.93%, MOBIL with 4.05%, UBA with 1.18% and GUARANTY with 0.85%, which contributed to a higher lift of 1.29% on the ASI from the preceding day’s trading
The increase took the week–to–date to a gain of 1.29%, while the month–to–date and the year-to-date market returns to reduced losses of -3.20% and -12.81% respectively.
NESTLE, WAPCO and ZENITH were the most active stocks boosting market turnover in the bourse.
Market breadth was negative as 21 losers over 17 gainers were recorded.
Volume traded decreased by -70.77% to 104.47 billion shares, valued at N1.93 billion and traded in 2,930 deals. The highest gainer recorded was DANGCEM with an 4.93% gain in its price, while TRANSEXPR on the other hand was the highest loser with -7.08% loss in its price.
Also, two out of the key five sectoral indices was affected in today’s reversals.
