From NSE Data, the equity market erased the 2-days recorded gains as it closes in red by -0.57% in today’s trading session Tuesday, 13 October 2015
Declines in Industrial stocks – (DANGCEM with -1.80%) and Consumer stocks – (NB with -1.09% and GUINNESS with -0.85%) played significant role in the loss recorded in today’s trading session which closed at 30,058.40 basis points.
The decrease took the week–to–date, the month–to–date and the year-to-date market returns to deeper losses of -0.35%, -3.71% and -13.27% respectively.
NB, ZENITHBANK and ACCESS were the most active stocks boosting market turnover in the bourse despite the loss .
Market breadth remained negative as 24 losers over 23 gainers were recorded.
Volume traded decreased by -7.71% to 124.24 billion shares, valued at N1.38 billion and traded in 2,930 deals. The highest gainer recorded was OKOMUOIL with an 5.00% gain in its price, while TRANSEXPR on the other hand was the highest loser with -8.85% loss in its price.
Also, only two out of the key five sectoral indices was affected in today’s reversals.
