From NSE Data, the equities market returned to positive territory in today’s trading session albeit with a marginal gain of 0.16% to close at 30,359.47 basis points, after yesterday’s loss of -0.19%.
This lift was influenced by the appreciation in the prices of some high cap banking stocks such as ZENITHANK, GUARANTY amongst others.
The increase took the week–to–date and the month–to–date to gains of 0.26% and 0.44% respectively. While the year-to-date markets returns to a reduced loss of -12.40%.
GUARANTY, FBNH and UBCAP were the most active stocks boosting market turnover in the bourse .
Market breadth was positive as 26 gainers over 21 losers were recorded..
Volume traded decreased by -58.96% to 169.86 billion shares, valued at N1.42 billion and traded in 3,512 deals. The highest gainer recorded was ETERNA with an 9.41% gain in its price, while UNITYBNK on the other hand was the highest loser with -8.09% loss in its price.
Also,two out of the key five sectoral indices was affected in today’s reversals.
