From NSE Data, the equity market closed trading week on a positive note as significant gains in the consumer goods and the banking sectors pushed the ASI upward by 0.91% from a -0.17% decline recorded previously to close at 29,689.08 basis point.
The increase took the week-to-date to a gain of 0.60%, while the month-to-date and the year-to-date market returns to reduced losses of -1.77% and -14.33% respectively.
NESTLE, UBA and NB, were the most active stocks boosting market turnover in the bourse.
The market breadth was positive as 23 gainers over 18 losers were recorded.
Volume traded decreased by -34.27% to 201.21 million shares, valued at N2.37 billion and traded in 3,480 deals. The highest gainer recorded was GUINNESS with 10.24% gain in its price, while VONO on the other hand was the highest loser with -8.16% loss in its price.
Also, one out of the key five sectoral indices was affected in today’s reversals.
