From NSE Data, bullish sentiments extended in today’s trading session Wednesday 05 August, 2015, as the NSE ASI recorded a highly significant gain 3.10% to close at 31,403.75.
Contributory to this gain, was the strengthening of the Naira currency and the commissioning of 1.5 million tonnes Dangote Cement Plant and 30 megawatts (mw) coal-fired power plant in Ndola, Zambia by the vice president,Prof.Osibanjo.
The increase took both the week–to–date and the month–to–date market returns to a further gain of 4.05% while the year-to-date market returns to a reduced loss of -9.39%.
DANGCEM, GUARANTY, ZENITHBANK and NB were the most active stocks boosting market turnover in the bourse.
The market breadth was positive as 36 gainers over 18 losers was recorded.
Volume traded decreased by -49.70% to 336.16 million shares, valued at N3.04 billion and traded in 4,243 deals. The highest gainer recorded was FLOURMILL with a 10.11% gain in its price, while REDSTAREX on the other hand was the highest loser with -7.07% loss in its price.
