From NSE Data, the market kicks off the week on a bullish note as the NSE ASI recorded a significant gain of 0.92% in today’s trading session, Tuesday July 21 2015, which closed at 31,047.99.
Contributing to this gain, was the mop-up activities of bargain hunters in blue chip stocks such as TOTAL with 2.52%, NESTLE with 2.02%, DANGCEM with 1.46%, 7UP with 1.19%, and ZENITH with 0.68%.
Also, the increase took the week–to–date to a gain of 0.92% while the month–to–date and year-to-date market returns to a reduced loss of -6.34% and -9.59% respectively.
ZENITHBANK, ACCESS and GUARANTY were the most active stocks boosting market turnover in the bourse.
The market breadth was positive as 28 gainers over 22 losers were recorded.
Volume traded increased by 375.22% to 1056.03 billion shares, valued at N15.780 billion and traded in 3,471 deals. The highest gainer recorded was OANDO with a 10.24% gain in its price, while TRANSEXPR on the other hand was the highest loser with -9.01% loss in its price.
Also, two of the key five sectoral indices were affected in today’s reversals.
