From NSE Data, the Equity market rebounded in today’s trading session Thursday 16th July 2015 with a marginal gain of 0.25% as bargain hunters dominated the market to halt an eleven-day of losing streak which closed at 31,047.99.
Investors took advantage of the rally to acquire stocks that were heavily discounted like GUARANTY, GUINNESS, WAPCO, UBA amongst others.
Contributing to this marginal gain was the significant gain of 1.90% recorded by only the banking sector out of the five key sectoral indices. Conversely, the oil and gas, the insurance, the consumer goods and the industrial goods indices recorded losses of -0.90%, -0.80%, -0.46% and -0.13% respectively.
FIDELITY, WAPCO and GUARANTY were the most active stocks to boost market turnover in the bourse.
The market breadth remained negative as 29 losers over 20 gainers were recorded.
Also, four of the five key sectoral indices were affected in today’s reversals.
