From NSE Data, the market starts week negative as the NSE ASI sheds -0.32% to end today’s trading session Monday 13th, which closed at 31,628.85.
Also, the decrease took the week–to–date, the month–to–date and year-to-date market returns to a deeper loss of -0.32% ,-5.46% and -8.74% respectively.
ZENITHBANK, DANGCEM and TRANSCORP were the most active stocks boosting market turnover in the bourse despite the loss.
Volume traded decreased by -44.35% to 264.36 million shares, valued at N5.47 billion and traded in 3,049 deals. The highest gainer recorded was UNITYBNK with a 4.68% gain in its price, while TRANSEXPR on the other hand was the highest loser with -11.11% loss in its price.
Two out of the five key sectoral indices were affected again in today’s pullback except the Industrial Sector, which rallied on the strength of the high-cap WAPCO to inch up by a marginal 0.39%, the banking sector with 0.14% boosted by ZENITHBANK‘s gain and the Insurance Sector, which also grew by a marginal 0.04% propelled by the strong showing ofCONTINENTIAL REINSURANCE PLC .
The market breadth was negative as 31 losers over 10 gainers were recorded.
