EQUITIES
- The market moved green in today’s trading session albeit with a marginal gain of 0.05% which is due to the positive performance of the consumer goods and the insurance sectors over the reverse in the banking and oil & gas sector.
- The NSE ASI closed at 34,061.89points while the market capitalization increased by N86billion to N11.6trillion. The increase took both the week–to–date and the month–to–date returns to a reduced loss of 0.72%, while the year-to-date markets returns to a lesser 1.72% loss.
- Three out of the five key Sectoral indices appreciated. While the Consumer Goods index topped the list with a 0.96% gain, the Insurance and the Industrial Goods indices followed suite with marginal gains of 0.31% and 0.01% respectively. Conversely, the Oil & Gas and the Banking indices recorded losses of 1.60% and 0.33% respectively.
- Market breadth was positive as 26 gainers over 19 losers were recorded. Volume traded decreased by 34.23% to 224.07million shares, valued at N48billion and traded in 3,940 deals. The highest gainer recorded was VONO with a 9.60% gain in its price, while INTENEGINS on the other hand was the highest loser with 5.66% loss in its price.
