Transaction on the floor of the Stock Exchange on Thursday, 25th January 2024, sustained a 11th-day consecutive bullish run and closed on a positive note. The  All Share Index appreciated by 0.57% to settle at 102,149.93 from the previous close of 101,571.11. This brings the year-to-date to 34.27%,  the month-to-date to 34.27%, and the week-to-date to 7.84% respectively.

Market Capitalisation closed at N55.900 trillion. An aggregate of 504,194,662 units of shares was traded in 12,235 deals valued at N10,302,034,622.70

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed positive as 33 equities gained while 28 equities declined in share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Seplat Energy and Universal Insurance Plc led other gainers with 10% growth each to close at  N3,074.60 and N0.44 from their previous price of N2,795.10 and N0.40 respectively.

AIICO Insurance, Japaul-Gold, and May & Baker Plc amongst other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.84, 9.80%%, and 9.77% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Ikeja Hotel Plc led other price decliners as it shed 9.91% off its share price to close at N7.18 from its previous close of N7.97.

Honeywell Flour Mill, Linkage Assurance, and UPDC REIT Plc amongst other losers also shed their share prices by  9.70%, 8.40%, and 8.06% respectively.

Volume Drivers

United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc traded about 74.876 million units of its shares in 644 deals, valued at N2.248 billion

Transcorp Plc traded about 34.168 million units of its shares in 787 deals, valued at N581.076 million

Sterling Bank Financial Holding Plc traded about 33.069 million units of its shares in 316 deals, valued at N210.444 million
