Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange on Tuesday closed on a positive note as the All Share Index appreciated by 0.7% to settle at 47,205.03 points, from the previous close of 46,867.95 points, bringing the year-to-date to 0.27%, the month-to-date to 0.7% and the week-to-date to 1.21% respectively.
Investors gained N181Billion as market capitalisation appreciated by 0.72% to close at N25.448trillion from the previous close of N25.267trillion. An aggregate of 245.244Million units of shares were traded in 5,832 deals valued at N4.580Billion.
Market Breadth:
The market breadth closed positive as 30 equities gained while 17 equities declined in their share prices.
Percentage Gainers:
CAP Plc led other gainers with 10% growth to close at N19.80 from the previous close of N18.00.
NEIMETH, Meyer, and LEARNAFRCA Plc amongst other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.90%, 9.70% and 9.70% respectively.
Percentage Losers:
Academy Plc led other price decliners as it shed 10% off its share price to close at N1.44 from the previous close of N1.60.
Caverton, Royal Exchange Assurance Plc and Linkassure Plc amongst other losers also shed their share prices by 9.90%, 9.60% and 7.55% respectively.
Volume Drivers:
GTCO Plc traded about 39.093mIllion units of its shares in 737 deals, valued at N924.554Million.
Zenith Bank Plc traded about 27.207million units of its shares in 665 deals, valued at N691.073Million.
Sterling Bank Plc traded about 15.500million units of its shares in 131 deals, valued at N671.930Million.
