Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Wednesday closed on a negative note as the All Share Index depreciated by 0.38% to settle at 46,930.66 points, from the previous close of 47,111.21 points, bringing the year-to-date to 9.81%, the month-to-date to 0.66% and the week-to-date to 1.57% respectively. Investors lost N98Billion as Market Capitalization depreciated by 0.38% to close at N25.289trillion from the previous close of N25.387trillion. An aggregate of 434.946Million units of shares were traded in 5,878 deals, valued at N6,260Billion. Market Breadth: The market breadth closed negative as 21 equities gained while 31 equities declined in their share prices. Percentage Gainers: Ikeja Hotel Plc led other gainers with 10% growth to close at N1.43 from the previous close of N1.30. Conoil, Academy and RT Briscoe Plc amongst other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.96%, 9.71% and 8.33% respectively. Percentage Losers: ABC Transport Plc led other price decliners as it shed 8.33% off its share price to close at N0.33 from the previous close of N0.36. Courtville, Caverton and May Baker Plc amongst other losers also shed their share prices by 6.90%, 6.17% and 5.95% respectively. Volume Drivers: Fidelity Bank Plc traded about 47.738million units of its shares in 231 deals, valued at N136.724Million. Transcorp Plc traded about 35.585million units of its shares 184 deals, valued at N40.869Million. Courtville Plc traded about 32.456million units of its shares in 71 deals, valued at N17.749Million. |
