Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange on Friday closed on a positive note as the All Share Index appreciated by 0.08% to settle at  42,265.99 points, from the previous close of 42,230 points, bringing the year-to-date to 5.20%, the month-to-date to 9.40% and the week-to-date to -0.19% respectively.

Investors gained N17Billion as Market Capitalization appreciated by 0.08  to close at N22,060trillion from the previous close of N22.043trillion. An aggregate of 111,843million units of shares were traded in 2,072 deals, valued at N911,918Million.

Market Breadth:

The market breadth closed negative as 12 equities gained  while 13 equities declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers:

Union Bank Plc led other gainers with 9.90% growth to close at N5.55 from the previous close of N5.05.

Consolidated Hallmark Insurance, Sovereign Insurance, ETI Plc amongst other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.38%, 8.33% and 7.20 respectively.

Percentage Losers:

Cornerstone Insurance Plc led other price decliners as it shed 9.80% off its share price to close at N0.46 from the previous close of N0.51.

UPDC, Jaiz Bank, Japaul Gold Plc amongst other losers also shed their share prices by 3.39%, 3.13% and  2.63%  respectively.

Volume Drivers:

Transcorp  Plc traded about 11.546million units of its shares in 54 deals, valued at N617.023million.

UBN Plc traded about 9.892million units of its shares in 96 deals, valued at N54.664million.

Access Bank Plc traded about 9.880million units of its shares in 118 deals, valued at N88.249.
